I recommend you do a little research with the Business Opportunity Search Engine. Being community driven it’s a cross between a search engine and a Wikipedia. You can add, delete and improve the results for much more focused answers than a general search engine can provide.

You can get the cables for about $15.00 or just universal cable ENDS for about $6.00. It is usually a very simple fix and shouldn't take to long to complete.

An article appeared in Forbes the other day that we found very interesting indeed. The gist? That our current economic hiccup is ending (we’ll believe that when we see it) and if Dell plays its card right it can capitalize on the imminent post-recession uptick in sales that’s sure to come as companies start clamoring to tend to their long-neglected technology. And the key to such a strategy? Newer, sexier gear, such as Dell’s long-rumored, not yet confirmed Latitude Z notebook. The premium machine is said to feature a 16-inch display and “most likely, advanced wireless capabilities, perhaps even wireless charging.” Apparently we can expect the machine to launch within the next few weeks, at a price point that is yet to be determined — although we’re guessing it ain’t going to be cheap. For the record, connectivity isn’t a problem: throughput, however, can be. It sometimes just flakes out incredibly.

I am guessing your modem connects to your desktop using USB and that is why you dont have the modem connected straight to the routers WAN Port.

If your modem can use a ethernet cable then connect it staright to the router and setup the router to connect to the internet. If the modem only uses USB then you will either need to connect it exactly how you have it now or get a modem that can use a ethernet connection.

If you are looking for a good reason to have antivirus software on your machine even though you ‘don’t do anything dodgy on the internet’, then here it is! Infected files drivers hosted at peripheral manufacturer Razer USA’s website have been found by researchers at antivirus company Trend Micro after investigating reports received from concerned customers. Trend Micro confirmed that at least 8 drivers were infected, all of which were immediately removed by Razer upon discovery of the problem. Although the Trojan in question, WORM.ASPXOR.AB, is classified at the highest possible severity level by threat analysis site ThreatExpert, it appears detection is quite difficult – Trend Micro state that in their testing ‘only 7 out of 41 vendors offered generic detection’. Razer certainly aren’t the first company to ship infected software to their customers – Apple previously shipped a virus to customers on their iPod Video units, Seagate sold virus infected hard drives to customers and…

Miles per hour – out. Bits per second – in. Dow Jones & Co. said Monday it would add Cisco Systems Inc., the world’s largest maker of computer networking hardware, to the 30-stock industrial average, replacing General Motors Corp. The change takes effect June 8. The automotive giant filed for bankruptcy protection Monday. Meanwhile, Cisco has been weathering the recession without major layoffs, and has kept acquiring companies to expand its technology portfolio. Shares of San Jose, Calif.-based Cisco rose 78 cents, or 4.2 percent, to $19.28 in morning trading. Meanwhile the Dow Jones U.S. Technology Index was up 2.5 percent. Investment funds that track the Dow Jones industrials are now forced to buy Cisco shares to match the index. The addition of Cisco reflects the increasing importance of information technology in the U.S. economy. IBM Corp. was added to the list in 1979. It was followed by Hewlett-Packard Co. in 1997, then Intel Corp. and Microsoft Corp. in 1999. Intel and…

The title varies, generally someone who does this is a 1st Level Technician/Technical Analyst. Anything beyond basic troubleshooting goes into another category.
